Battle Of The Gods

So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did just as the Lord commanded. Aaron threw his staff down in front of Pharaoh and his officials, and it became a snake. Pharaoh then summoned wise men and sorcerers, and the Egyptian magicians also did the same things by their secret arts: Each one threw down his staff and it became a snake. But Aaron’s staff swallowed up their staffs. – Exodus 7:10-12

Which God was stronger?  The God of the Bible or the gods of Egypt?

Religion may never die due to the supposed comfort that it brings.  Prayer has been foisted upon parishioners as a way to directly communicate with God as a means of comfort.  However, what has prayer ever done that was beneficial?  If two football teams pray for victory, one of their prayers will not be fulfilled.  The Islamic hijackers of United Airlines Flight 93 were praying to God before they attempted to hit their intended target. The ironic thing is that the passengers prayed to God as well.  What good did any of their prayers do?
